| The
classes are designed to build on the previous week's material.
While we generally review what we did in the last class,
should you have to miss a class, please make an effort to
catch up either by asking a fellow classmate to go over
it with you or by taking a private lesson. Unless you are
familiar with the material, please no drop-ins except on
the first day of class.
Also, you are
welcome, in fact encouraged, to learn both the leader’s
and follower’s roles as that makes you a better dancer
and you have to sit out fewer dances. During a month of
class however, it is requested that you work on one role
or the other.
The classes
rotate partners. We believe you learn faster and meet more
friends and future dance partners that way. If you absolutely
do not want to, you don't have to.
Dancing is
physical activity. Please consult your physician if you
have any concerns about dancing. If any thing hurts, please
stop and tell one of the teachers.

Dancing
with the Queers International Standard Program |
 |
Beginning
International Standard Ballroom
Sundays 12:00pm -1:00pm | April Beginning Ballroom Quickstep Starts April 7th
May will be Ballroom Waltz.
Beginning International Standard
Ballroom - This is a class where you learn a routine in Waltz, Tango and Quickstep
and are able to take it out on the dance floor,
whether for social dancing or for competing.
We will study technique,
floorcraft, styling, footwork and more in Waltz,
Tango and Quickstep. We strongly encourage you
to take the full bronze class at least twice through.
Once you have taken six months, you will have
been through all of the basic Bronze steps which
gives you a good foundation to move on to the
intermediate level.
There
are many local opportunities to dance socially
and to compete, should you chose to do so. We
encourage you to help each other and practice
together. This class will rotate partners. If
you have a competition partner, it is your responsibility
to find time to practice together outside of class.
